Counterfeit prescription drugs
The problem of counterfeit prescription drugs is a grave one and is in fact increasing everyday. Thousands of such drugs are being made and sold in the worldwide market and the poorer countries become the main victims. In order to stop the racket of counterfeit prescription drugs the Food and Drug Administration's Counterfeit Drug Task Force recently announced that bar code technology and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that will be used in identifying genuine drugs over counterfeit prescription drugs. In addition scientists are researching a unique method of coding using DNA structures which on development will be a great help in stopping the counterfeit drug hazards.
